Food was good, but I think with all the hype I was expecting great. Maybe I ordered wrong but I wanted to try what they were known for and ordered the stew non spicy. I'm a bit wary of Korean spice but maybe I should have gotten it mild instead. The La galbi was good but chewy. Service was great and it was a huge space. Not too noisy but it wasn't busy at lunchtime on a weekday. Will probably try again and order something different.

This is our first time at this Wilshire location of BCD Tofu House. We arrived on a busy Monday lunch time and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We arrived at 1:25pm to be exact. Sofia at the front counter was great. Very friendly and welcoming. Our servers Monica and Jung were also great. We ordered the Bulgogi Beef Combo (mild) and Spicy Pork Bulgogi Combo. Their serving portions are great and is more than enough. The Bulgogi Beef (mild) was delicious. It's not too sweet. Other bulgogis we've tasted are enormously sweet but not this specific BCD Tofu House. The soy sauce balanced out the flavor. Beef is also very tender. It was still steaming hot when it was served and that's the way we like it. Spicy Pork Bulgogi Combo was hot and spicy. Just the way my husband likes it. He said it was excellent. Our meals also came with fish, tofu, kimchi, rice and egg. Kimchi's level of spiciness was perfect for me. As it balanced out the taste of the beef bulgogi. This place was very busy yet the service was great and we didn't wait too long for our food to be served. We will definitely be back at this location when in the Wilshire K-Town district.

Just had lunch here for the first time. The food was great, as was the whole authentic Korean experience. I had the assorted tofu soap, my husband had the soybean paste tofu soup which was even more flavorful. It came with an assortment of delicious side dishes like kimchi, mashed potato type salad, a fried fish and cabbage with kimchi sauce. We also got the Golbi which was so yummy-- much like Korean bbq. Loved it all!

I think BCD is always a good place to go, whether during the day, or late night since it closes after 2am. Seating during peak hours can take 30-45min easily, but if you go during off hours it is usually pretty fast seating. Service can vary based on how many servers they have, but they're quite efficient majority of the time. The food is solid, soon tofu is a good size and I usually get full on a soon tofu with the side dishes....if I get the combo with an entree + soon tofu, I almost always feel too full afterward. So if you plan to go out after or bar hop or go clubbing, you may want to stick with just a soon tofu. Otherwise, consider dropping by BCD after your night out is over. Their short rib, pork, and chicken are all pretty decent, solid flavor and meat is not dry, but not the best quality in Ktown, just one of the more convenient places that open the latest. Also, for the reasonable pricing and the efficiency, generally quick service, casual atmosphere where you can go in PJs or workout cloth, I think it should be on everyone's radar as an option.

This is my favorite location for one main reason - they have a private parking lot. That's really it. The other location closest to me is only street parking which can be a nightmare if you happen to be out during peak lunch/dinner time. Looking for a parking spot alone can take so long that you're discouraged to even go. The food has stayed consistent. Our go to has always been to get the combo which gets you a small soup, rice and a protein. Easily enough for 2 people so you always end up with leftovers. My personal favorite is the galbi. If I'm feeling some type of way, I'll get the bulgogi. Always paired with the dumpling tofu. Spice level mild for a little kick. I do fins that medium spice is the best way to go. The service is always in point. They do such a great job of getting everyone in and out within an hour, if not less. I've literally never been to a location where there wasn't a line outside so that's telling you something. Another great plus is whenever I'm there I'm always surrounded by my own people so clearly we all love to support ours.

The og bcd was always such a staple in ktown! We appreciated the comfort food brought from Korean! Sadly after the years the queen had passed the taste wasn't the same! Today few years after, taking my mother for Mother's Day the quality picked back up! The service was immaculate even the chapjae was like childhood! Only thing! Before had came in, the host wasn't Korean and had explained to someone who came in party of 1 to get seated asked them to sign the wait list! But the waitlist was an iPad. Did not walk out just expected she knew how to do it. We walked in together and out after, I wasn't going to have my aunty lose her spot so i had my mom ask her to input her name on the waitlist yelp screen.

Never change the food quality. I like their service, too. Prepare for many people if you visit at the dinner time.

Whenever I visit Los Angeles, California, I ALWAYS go to BCD Tofu House in K-town. I live in Austin, TX, and it's REALLY hard to find good tofu stew close to me. My fiancé and I drove from Austin, TX, to Los Angeles, CA, to visit family and friends, and I kid you not... BCD was one of the biggest reasons why I was able to push through that 21+ hour drive. The thought of eating their food again motivated me to stay wide awake and drive safely. I'm actually not a soondubu jjigae (tofu stew) fan, but this is the only one that I can easily finish (take a look at the pictures). Their food quality is consistently the same. They offer the same delicious side dishes, deep-fried mackerel, steamy tofu stew (I get it with pork), and a stone bowl of rice where they add hot barley tea after you finish the rice. I always tell people this is where you get really good, authentic soondubu jjigae. Despite how busy they are, there's always someone who walks around to refill your side dishes as well! I also decided to try it with glass noodles, and it was absolutely delicious!

Went to lunch with a friend. It was expectedly busy but we were seated immediately. We both ordered the galbi combo. This should have been a five star experience if not for one hiccup that happened. We got the banchans and the galbi in a timely manner but the tofu soup took very long. We saw that other people who arrived after us were served of their soup ahead of us so we flagged down the server to follow up. We suspected that they forgot about us cuz after inquiring about it, they immediately served it to us. The food was undoubtedly very good and delicious. However, the staff should have been more attentive to the guests. Customer service was not always as reliable so I'm taking a one star off this review.
